Safe to Eat Prawn

Is it safe to eat Prawn during pregnancy, breastfeeding or while trying to conceieve?Is it healthy for infant, toddler or childrent to eat?

Trying to conceive

First, it is safe to eat prawn while you are trying to conceive, but you should avoid eating prawn together with fruit as it may cause vomiting,diarrhea and other discomfort.


Prawn is rich in zinc. Zinc can help to improve sperm count and sperm quality - both are important for successful conception.


Prawn also contains taurine which can help to regulate blood pressure. High blood pressure during pregnancy can lead to many complications.


Lastly, prawn contains vitamin A, minerals like potassium, iodine, magnesium which are all beneficial to the health of couples.


During Pregnancy

It is safe to eat prawn in moderation during pregnancy, but pregnant women must avoid raw prawn.


First, water pollution has many marine life to contain toxic chemicals like mercury. Mercury can affect the development of the nervous system of the baby and this harmful chemical cannot be easily removed from our body once it is inside our body.


Prawn is rich in magnesium. Magnesium cna help to regulate activities of heart and cholesterol level in blood. This can help to prevent high blood pressure. High blood pressure can lead to many complications during pregnancy.


Lastly, prawn is rich in protein and calcium which are beneficial for the healthy development of the growing fetus.


During Confinement

It is safe to eat prawn during confinement.


Prawn is a good source of protein which can give new mothers energy for daily activities.


Prawn also contain minerals like zinc, potasium, magnesium and vitamin A which can aid in the recovery of the new mothers from birth delivery.


During Breastfeeding

First, you should monitor your baby's reaction after you have eaten the prawn. Some babies may show allergic reaction to prawn.


One benefit of prawn is that it helps to increase breast milk production.


Furthermore, it also contains some vitamins and minerals like vitamin A, potassium, zinc, magnesium which are beneificial for new mothers and the babies.

Hence, breastfeeding mother should limit the amount of consumption.

Seven Months to Nine Months Old Baby

Ten Months to Twelve Months Old Baby

It is not suitable for your child at this age to eat prawn due to concern of allergy and merucry.


One Year Old and Above Baby

You should be cautious in feeding your baby prawn as many children will show allergic reaction to prawn.
