Safe to Eat Broccolli
Trying to conceive
It is healthy for couples to eat brocolli while they are trying to conceive.
Broccoli is rich in vitamin C, vitamin B, zinc and folic acid. For men, lack of vitamin B can lead to reduce sperm count and motility. For women, lack of vitamin B is related to recurrent miscarriage. Lack of this vitamin will also interfere with normal ovulation and implantation of the fertilized egg.
Rich vitamin C present in broccoli can help to increase sperm motility and therefore increase chance of conception.
Folic acid can help to improve fertility in women and improve quality and quantity of sperm in men.
During Pregnancy
Broccoli is rich in iron which helps to prevent risk of anemia.
Broccoli also help to prevent osteoporosis as it contains calcium, magnesium,zinc and phosphorus.
Furthermore, broccoli is rich in folic acid which can help to prevent neurological defect in newborn.
Lastly, broccoli helps to boost immunity in both pregnant women and the baby.
During Confinement

During Breastfeeding
Broccoli contains raffinose-a sugar that will remain undigested until enzyme in your gut ferment it, which will produce gas and in turn can make new mother bloat. But do not avoid this food completely as it has a lot health benefits.
Four Months to Six Months Old Baby
Broccoli is not suitable for baby at this stage as it may cause gas.

Seven Months to Nine Months Old Baby
Broccoli is suitable for baby when baby reaches 8 months or 9 months old. You will need to made it mashed so that it is easy for your baby to digest.
